It's shocking what politics can make one Christian become to another. Before the elections, personal debates lead to keeping...
There is nothing, no one as glorious, exquisite, beautiful, overwhelming, lovely and captivating as the Lord Himself. Why seek for something or someone less?
"Everything eventually fades away, apart from Jesus Christ" - Frank Viola.
I do not know how He does it, but He sure does captivate me. He continues to inspire and invigorate me. His impressiveness never declines or stays stagnant. It keeps progressing, never having an end.
Jesus was well acquainted with grief and sorrow. He knew what it meant to be despised, oppressed and rejected; many threw His precious gifts in His face. He understood what it meant to be betrayed, brutally beaten, scorned and mocked. Jesus knew how it felt to be undermined and underestimated...The real question is whether or not we are capable of accepting the truth of what God has said while we go through brutal suffering and unimaginable pain.
...As far as Lord Jesus was concerned, His gospel was the most important message anyone could ever be concerned with. The message demanded absolute commitment. Some people call the name "Jesus" as mere exclamation. Check the movies. Listen to the local conversations and you find out this is true. Some even call The Name in mockery. If there ever was a man who was deeply concerned about 'all-round-freedom' for the human race, this man was Jesus Christ. A great part of His ministry was spent giving people freedom. Hundreds of years before His birth, a prophet spoke clearly about the purpose the Messiah will fulfill (Isaiah 61:1-3). Lord Jesus spoke these very words about Himself in Luke 4:18-19: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord." Lord Jesus did not take oppression lightly and whenever He saw a case, He was always willing to bring freedom to the oppressed. This is expressed clearly in Acts 10:38: "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him."
Jesus stood for the New Creature, a special breed, foreign to earth and made in Heaven. This species run on divine fuel, with innate power to unify both heaven and earth. They are the light of the world that is plunged in the darkness of hate and prejudice. They are the salt of the earth, the peace makers, bridging the gap between God and man and between man and man.
Grace does not just refer to receiving a privilege you could never deserve; it also means being empowered to live above the corruption, foes and perversion of the system from which you have received undeserved pardon.
